12 Weeks Old

I love this GIRL!!! She is the sweetest most beautiful baby. She is not feeling well though :( She has a bit of a cold, stuffy nose and sneezing. I called the DR, but there is not much we can do. She is too little to take medicine so we kind of have to wait it out. I can tell she doesn't feel well though because she only wants to be held. I am getting nothing done, but that's ok. I'm just thankful I have the time right now to be able to sit and hold her all day. Hopefully she will get to feeling better soon, I feel so bad for her.

On another note, she had her first photo shoot on Monday. I can't wait to see them all, but here are the one's she sent me to preview. This lady did a fantastic job and she came out to the house. It was so nice and relaxing. (Her name is Nell and her blog is cowtowncameragirl.blogspot.com)

MY FAVORITES!!!

SHE IS SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!! I'm aloud to say that...I'm her mom. :)

Lately...

Well, we have been doing great lately. Not too much going on...just the norm. Addison is 11 weeks old today. (Just one week past her due date) I have had a teacher conference this week so we are "practicing" what our routine will be when I go back to work. It has worked out beautifully. Addi is eating every four hours now (YES!!!) - usually 10, 2, and 6. So...since Eric works evenings I feed her at 10 pm and go to bed, he does the 2 am, I wake up to get ready and feed her at 6 am, then he gets up with her at 10 am. He's home with her in the mornings, then takes her to my moms about 1:30. I get off around 4. We are so blessed to get to spend so much time with her, and to have family with her when we cannot be there. Last Sunday we took Addi to church for the first time. It was great! I think she is probably between 7 and 8 pounds. She looks so big to me. (I know I say that a lot) Anyway, we are just looking forward to spending the next few weeks together before I officially go back to work (which I am also looking forward to).

It's been a long time...

So things are FINALLY back to "normal" around the Welborn house - thankfully!!! We are so glad to all be healthy and at home together. Addison has, of course, been growing so fast. She went to the eye doctor again today and he said her retina was growing and looked better than the last time he saw her. He wants to see her again in 4 weeks (after her due date - Can you believe she isn't even due for another week?!) She is now eating 3 ounces at a time! I remember when they started giving her 3 ml per feed (30 ml = 1 ounce). She is also going towards eating every 4 hours instead of every 3 hours. Believe it or not, this makes my nights seem blissful. Here are some highlights from the past couple of weeks....

Kylie (Addi's cousin) meeting Addi for the first time
Sweet Kisses
Kylie looks so BIG next to Addi
Addi has started to really love her pacie - she is so funny - she puts her hands against it like she is holding it (I know she really doesn't consciously do it)

Here's another one...she does this all the time?

8 WEEKS OLD - the bear is starting to look smaller :)

On our way to her FIRST campout. Franklin was so cute. He would lay down for a while, then sit up and peek in her carseat to make sure she was still there, then go back so sleep. They will be best buds, one day...

We were all ready for a fun 4th of July weekend in YaYa and Dink's travel trailer - too bad Mommy had to get sick :(

YaYa even brought Addi's pack'n'play so she could sleep comfortably.

Instead...we spent our 4th of July in the hospital :(

"Mom...No pictures please, I'm trying to nap."

She's getting ready to go jogging....:)

Good News

My biliruben levels went down so the chose to do a MRI instead of the other procedure. Those results did not show any concern so they discharged me tonight. YEA! What great answers to our prayers. I have recently realized how easy it is to take health for granted. I am so glad to be home with my baby girl. I missed her SO much! I feel like she grew over the past couple of days, maybe just my imagination. Eric did such a wonderful job taking care of Addi and the other household things that needed to be done. Addi is so lucky to have him for a daddy. :)

4th of July Blues

Well, this post isn't necessarily about Addi's progress, but it is the easiest way to inform friends and family what is going on at the Welborn house.

Our plans for fourth of July consisted of Addi's first camping trip (I will post pics later). We were planning on leaving Thursday morning and coming back Sunday. Addi's YaYa and Dink (Eric's parents) have a travel trailer so Addi would be camping in air conditioning and the comfort of her own bed. Well, Wednesday evening I had a SEVERE gall bladder attack. I started having issues with my gallbladder when I got pregnant with Addi. Doctors were hoping those issues would go away after her birth, but they just got worse. By Thursday morning I was starting to feel a bit better so we decided to go ahead with our trip. I was determined we were still going to have a good time. Thursday went by with only a few minor pains, but I felt like all would be well. Friday, however, I woke up and ate a light breakfast that ended up not settling well. My pain went from bad to worse and we ended up leaving Mineral Wells at 4:30 to head straight for the emergency room.

To make a long story short, we spent the evening in the ER running tests and sonograms to determine the extent of the problem. I was really hoping that they would give me some pain meds and we might make it for fireworks. That is not how thing happened. Turns out, I had many gallstones that were making the enzymes in my liver elevate. Therefor, I needed emergency gallbladder removal surgery. So I was checked in Friday night, had surgery Saturday, and was EXPECTED to go home Sunday.

Again, another turn in the story...The doctor came in today and said my biliruben levels were continuing to rise which usually means that a gallstone was in the bile duct. BUMMER!!! I want to go home. In this case they will perform an ERCP - a procedure in which they stick a scope down my throat, through all my organs, and in the position to flush out the gallstone. THANKFULLY I will be put out for the procedure. But, this will probably be done tomorrow which means I won't be able to go home until Tuesday. :(

BUT - we are still praying that things will turn....if my biliruben levels lower in the morning, they will let me go home and not have to do the procedure. So we will have to wait and see.

So, Addi didn't get to see fireworks her first 4th of July - but I don't think she will remember. More importantly, I am sad I have to be away from her for such a long period of time. Eric brings her up each day so I can see her, but I don't like her up here too much with so many sick people.

On the bright side of things - Addi is young and won't remember all this craziness. AND, this is all being done and taken care of during the summer while I am off work. I was worried that doctors would put things off and I would be going through this in the fall.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers....hope to be home soon and post more pics of the sweet baby girl. :)
